The Shakedown with Shooter and Mac G
Newly acquainted bros with nothing better to do after work so we decide to try this podcast stuff. We'll be having daily discussions about various topics from current events to whatever is on our minds. Let's get real and hopefully have a few laughs along the way.
The Shakedown with Shooter and Mac G
Starting Small, Thinking Big
Building something with bare hands and borrowed time isn’t cute—it’s gritty, uneven, and weirdly joyful. We open up about the early days of our DIY show, from watching double‑digit downloads with pride to using Buzzsprout’s first‑100‑days guide as a compass, all while keeping the core promise: honest talk that feels like sitting with friends who actually listen. The conversation travels—city life without a car, budgets that shape choices, and the peace that comes from keeping your home base close when the neighborhood doesn’t always sleep.
We get personal about connection too. Why do so many first dates happen in the dark at the movies when what we really want is eye contact and conversation? We trade that habit for nights that spark curiosity: open mics, small comedy rooms, and even the occasional symphony, with a candid nod to “what do I wear?” jitters. Music threads through everything—one of us grew up on viola, discovered metal, and never stopped chasing that feeling when a song lifts you out of a slump. We talk tunes as therapy, audiobooks as reset buttons, and even poking into faith texts out of curiosity, not dogma.
There’s humor and heat: Bigfoot vs. Yeti gets its playful showdown, and we revisit a tense bar moment about respect—owning what we’d do differently while holding the line on how we speak to each other in public. Then we build forward: a remote part‑time co‑host is in the works (soundboard fans, rejoice), and we’re finally moving into video with a legendary sub challenge. We map logistics—transit over parking headaches, midday timing, competitive‑eater strategies—and line up more food adventures and on‑the‑road reviews. For fellow creators, we share our co‑hosting workflow: light prep, clear themes, and room for the real to happen, plus permission to pivot when the format wants to grow.
If you’re into real conversation, music that moves you, and the messy fun of making something from scratch, you’re in the right place. Tap follow, share this with a friend who loves small beginnings, and drop us a comment with a song, a topic, or a spot you want us to check out. Your ideas shape what we make next.
Summer first, and then love the weather. It's just um the only thing is it does get like it feels like it's party time you know because everybody's out and and usually summer times party times like eight eight is thirty thirty is just really the party doesn't really get started until it's run and it's done where it gets ugly where it gets the truth where it gets whatever you need the party gets started there. Yeah. You know, and then uh we're talking about the journey that we took so far. It's been like a I'm gonna say like I was saying it's still like three months, you know.
SPEAKER_01:Realistically, it's only been one I'm sorry if it felt that way, but like that it feels like that. No, no, let me rephrase that.
SPEAKER_00:I know I'm overvariant, but jeez No, no, it feels like three months since we first dropped our first podcast on the on any platform.
SPEAKER_01:It kind of does feel that. I'm not gonna lie, only you know how it feels that way is because when you're sitting there looking for clicks, looking for the downloads and stuff. And it's cool though, because I mean from what I've seen, we've hit double digits, I think, on all our episodes that we put out so far.
SPEAKER_00:And we appreciate that.
SPEAKER_01:And by double digits, I mean like barely hit the double digits. I mean like under 15. I think a couple of them are over 15, but like other than that.
SPEAKER_00:You know, that's what we do with.
SPEAKER_01:Hey, that's I mean, you gotta start somewhere, right?
SPEAKER_00:Right, right. And uh we appreciate everybody that does tune in and click and nowhere to go from here but up. Yeah, yeah. And and we hope that you guys stay with us in tune with the journey that we take forward.
SPEAKER_01:And you know, I will say that uh sorry to cut you off, but I will say that one of the one of the uh things that's really been helpful is the uh because we're on Buzz Sprout, and Buzz Sprout, they've been helping us get our stuff out there in different platforms. Apple, oh big help, OS, big help, uh Android, all that crap. But Buzz Sprout has an article about like the first hundred days of a podcast and what to expect and where you should be and all that stuff. And we might be just slightly behind that, but that's all right with me because we're learning as we're going. And honestly, this is fun. I don't know about you.
SPEAKER_00:No, it's a good time here.
SPEAKER_01:It's been a good outlet for me.
SPEAKER_00:Definitely.
SPEAKER_01:I know sometimes we talk about stuff that we really don't want to talk about, but that's was the basis kind of to start with with the show, right? Was like, you know, hey, fuck everything else. Let's do something besides sitting at home commiserating about bullshit.
SPEAKER_00:So you know, that and for not just, you know, for you know, obviously I a lot of people, you know, it's podcasts are mainly for the fellas, but anybody anybody's welcome to join and listen to it. No, yeah. But definitely we were sitting here and saying, hey, you know, there's probably some people out there who feel like they might not have they might not have too many close friends or they might feel out there, you know, because you when you like me, I I don't want to get too much into detail, but let's say you go home and you can please go into detail, buddy. You know, you go home, not you, but like uh somebody goes home and they they probably just moved into a new place or they're probably getting it uh well I mean they're by themselves.
SPEAKER_01:I mean I was born here in Chicago, but uh it's I'm a slow uh I'm not a social person, so and it's been about like 20 plus years since I've lived over here, but I have been over here for about like two, three years now, I think. Three, yeah, well, like over three years now, actually. Now I think about it. And I don't really get out that much because I A, I don't like to drive, I don't mind taking the bus, but I'm a more of a I don't go out unless it's absolutely necessary type of guy. Right. I like to keep things nearby in your home base. That's my choice. It's not that I can't get my license, I can get my license, all that other stuff. But it's just one of those things it's like there living in the city, especially here in Illinois and outside of Chicago, there really is no need for to have. I mean, for me, not you know, not knocking anybody else, but you know, especially when you're on a certain type of budget, it really has freed up a lot of a lot of my budget not having to worry about a car because I'm one of those people that doesn't give a fuck. I don't really like reading signs when I go park somewhere, you know. That's one another reason why I don't like going out is because I remember that whole hassle, you know. Because I did live out here about like 20 plus years ago for like three, four years, and believe me, I think I probably a thousand dollars in per year in just getting having to get my fucking car out of tow. And that was two to three times a fucking year, man. And it it's a fucking hassle, and it's a money grab, and they make it easy for for them to get to tow you, and really my kids, they are all doing their thing. Two of them are in living on campus, one of them does have a car, and good for him, he's working, all that stuff. I don't rely on him for anything, right? It's cool that he has a car for us to be able to go do stuff together, right? But I'm still one of those people that I honestly don't feel like that's a necessary thing. I hang out with people because I want to hang out with them, I don't want to go take somebody out just to ignore them. Exactly. Yeah, yeah. That's why I've never understood why why people think that go taking a person out to a uh to a movie on a first date is necessary to the best because honestly, when if I have if I get up the balls to even approach a woman and ask them out on ask them out on a date, I I don't want to take them out into a dark room and ignore them for two and a half hours. I want to get to know them and look at them as much as possible. I don't even care if anything happens at at the end of the date. It's just I I do that at home all day by myself. You know, I sit at home watching two, three movies a day in the quiet. That's not the point of taking somebody out. Just doing it in a bigger screen. Am I wrong? I mean, am I wrong? You're just taking it to do it on a bigger screen. Am I wrong? I'm not I'm not wrong. I know I'm not wrong. Right. But you know, I get it. I get it. I from my understanding is that people, even in my generation, don't date for getting to know one another. They date because they want to get taken out or go have somebody to take out and have somebody to end up with in bed at the end of the night. And I'm not, I mean, that'd be great to end up with somebody in bed, you know, with that person in bed at the end of the night, but that's not my main intentions. Never has been, never will be. Sammy ain't about that shit, buddy.
SPEAKER_00:Never ever been about it.
SPEAKER_01:You know?
SPEAKER_00:Well, no, I mean, that's what I'm saying. Right, right. No, yeah, no, it's definitely good uh good to get out from for me personally. I try to get out from around my area. I don't like being too much in my area because then people start to know you, people start to see you.
SPEAKER_01:From what I heard about your area, man, I would want to stay out of your area too, but I'm not gonna lie. That's insane. What is it? At least two to three times a week, you get woken up by some fucking drama outside.
SPEAKER_00:You know, I don't know what's going on out there. It's just it's five in the morning, some guys out there yelling. I mean, don't get me wrong.
SPEAKER_01:I could put up with that shit. Don't get me but to put up with people from around the area. Nah, I'm good, man. I'm good.
SPEAKER_00:I mean, you know, I keep to myself. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. So, like, depending like where I live, even if I live in an okay area, I like to go at least 10 minutes out, 20 minutes out. You know, it gets too too local for me. And then you go to a local bar every day, and then people start to know you, and that's cool, and all nothing wrong with that. I like to switch it up though. I'm not saying I don't go to my local bar, I'll hit up the local bar once in a while, choose some cool. But you know, on the weekend, I might step out to the city, to the into downtown. I might step out to the north side.
SPEAKER_01:You know, honestly, I think I'm I'm done with that, man. Uh honestly, if it's not for like some sort of a purpose, like I was saying, let's check out that that one place, like that's I think like a five-minute drive. They have open mic night. I just I've never, I mean, I've seen I've been to open mic night musically in Colorado because I'm more of a musician, so I've been to like those all sorts of those things, and I've performed, I played, or participated in some way or another musically in those things. But I've never really, I mean, I've been to a few comedy shows, but that's been like like what the fuck was the place called? It was one of those places where you call in advance or you give them your number, and if they're in your looking to fill seats, they'll call you, but it's still like a two dollar minimum. They won't charge you, but it's like a two dollar minimum, and it's usually like I mean, nobody that I saw at that place, I think it's just called the Comedy Club or something like that. Just for laughs or something. Just for laughs, yeah. Something like that. Um, but uh I never saw anybody that that I there that I ever on TV. You understand what I'm saying? Nobody that I ever saw there, I think ever made it on TV. Maybe they were writers or just trying to start up or something, but but I know they were they were traveling traveling com comedians, so but I am interested in kind of checking that out just to you know, just it's a good way to take notes.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, definitely, you know? Yeah, no, and when I say stepping out for the weekend or even for the night, it doesn't have to be, you know, it doesn't have to be the bar.
SPEAKER_01:I like going to like the I I don't know if you ever heard the blue man group or I've been wanting, I've heard, I mean, I've heard of them since since they started to be even actually no, yeah, in Colorado. And even when I moved over here, I wanted to to check them out. But uh, are they still as big as they were back then? I don't think they are.
SPEAKER_00:Uh the last time I saw them.
SPEAKER_01:I don't think it's even the original guys or something. But then again, Blue Man Group was everywhere at one point for a while, so you know it wasn't ever really truly the original guys unless it was the commercials, from up from my understanding.
SPEAKER_00:Right. No, I'm pretty sure there's the originals, the OGs, and they probably do it in Chicago. I don't know. I'm not exactly where they originated. I'm not 100% sure there. And I'm pretty sure it's here in Chicago, so long story short, you know.
SPEAKER_01:I think I'm pretty sure it was here. I'm like, I mean, they might be from somewhere else, but I think they got their popularity here.
SPEAKER_00:It's a good show. It's a good show. I would recommend it.
SPEAKER_01:I mean, I've I've seen some of the stuff.
SPEAKER_00:If you want to take a date, not like maybe someone you've been dating for a while, because the tickets are a little bit.
SPEAKER_01:Are they still expensive? I'd rather go to a Broadway show, to be honest. I mean, I'm not really a Broadway guy.
SPEAKER_00:I'm not really a Broadway guy. I'm not really uh Yeah, I get that. I mean, not not knocking them or not. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, don't get me wrong.
SPEAKER_01:No, don't get me wrong. I'd be cool to take a date, but not very many people are into that sort of shit. And I mean, I'm I'm at that age though, and I like I said, I I I grew up from fucking what like at 12 years eleven years old playing in an orchestra and stuff till I was 18 years old. So yeah, I'm definitely interested in or it doesn't even have to be a musical, it could be a fucking opera, preferably an opera, maybe even uh just a symphony. That would be fucking I would love to go catch a symphony, man. But my biggest thing with symphonies, my huge thing with symphonies, is that like I know certain shows are like bigger than other shows, and other shows are kind of off the big name, should kind of like off Broadway in a sense. So like how do you know what to wear? You know, it's like what you mean, is the attire always tuxedos or suits?
SPEAKER_02:Oh, when you when you show up to a sort of symphony? Oh, I think it's um big.
SPEAKER_01:Dude, I know I I've seen tourists that show up in like just regular touristy looking shit just to go catch a show, but that's usually like popcorn off-Broadway type stuff. But when you want to watch a symphony, no, a symphony you better come in on DC.
SPEAKER_00:I think I think it's black and white.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I I don't think they'll really I mean they won't care, but do you really want to get those looks? Do you really want to be there? You'll be that peasant there with your cargo shorts and stuff. But it's like I said, I don't know. I just know because I've never really been to a symphony outside of what I experienced. I mean, I guess, but that was more like like school field trips and stuff, so it's like it's not you're dressing up in the in a suit, you know what I'm saying? So I don't know. So that's always kind of like an anxiety issue for me. It's like you know, I almost feel like like a girl growing the going to prom or something.
SPEAKER_00:It's like, you know. Now, you know, see, here's the thing, right? Like I said, I'm not really big on symphonies. I think it is cool to check it out once in a lifetime. I think it depends on the venue more than anything. Right. I mean, they're having they had a symphony coming up where they were gonna do a band. It was like an actual rock band, and this was a big thing.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, kind of like uh Metallica, Metallica, uh whole thing.
SPEAKER_00:A whole bunch of big name modes. Yeah, you know, something like that would probably be cool to see. Something like that would probably be cool to see. We could always edit this part. And we're back.
SPEAKER_01:Metallica, technical issues there for a second, but Metallica was was one of their hits. Metallica and uh one?
SPEAKER_00:Well not one, but drop drop like a like a song I might. Oh, oh, Inner Sandman, that was a good one. Yeah, yeah, that was.
SPEAKER_01:Uh, I had mentioned Metallica because you were meant trying to mention bring up a band with a symphony. They'd done that before. Yeah, they definitely was that who you're trying to bring up.
SPEAKER_00:No, I don't know if it was a Metallica. This is a recent band. This was probably like a few months ago that I heard about this band.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, I mean, there's a lot of bands that usually try to do that stuff.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, no, and it's uh it's it's crazy because the thing is you would never really symphony music seems like or symphony seems like really like neat people, you know. They don't they probably don't like rock music. Not I don't know, they're probably cool people. I'm not true. I mean you know what they're probably cool, you know. I'm not sure, bro.
SPEAKER_01:It all depends on the genre, but I mean, because music for me, music is everything. I grew up playing uh orchestra music, the viola and stuff, so for me, I mean I kind of had to got introduced to both things at the same time because I got into I didn't really get into heavy metal music and all that stuff and rock uh till I was about like 13 years old, so about the same time that I started an orchestra, 12, 13 years old. So but yeah, I I really like I see the correlation between like I said, I'm a musician, so for me, you know, I I've it's more than a passion for me, man. It's it's life. Music is life, bro.
SPEAKER_00:That's what it is to me. Well, you know how it is, you know. Music is you could be sober and you could put on a tune and it you know.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I mean it's therapeutic, it's uh medicinal for sure. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. It's a sense, it's yeah, and it's funny because I'm half I'm missing an ear. I'm missing an ear hole, an ear canal. And I mean, I guess maybe that's why I'm into music more, is because of that, because it's yeah, I do it it may it might be mono for me, but it hits me a little bit different. The vibrations and everything else. I don't know, I don't mean to be all like preachy and shit about it, but that's that's the only way. I just love I love music, so you know.
SPEAKER_00:I'm pretty sure a lot of people love music, you know. And then you know it's crazy. Um sometimes I'll hear uh I'll be on, you know, watching a video and I'm checking out comments just while watching the video, and and it's a good song, and then I hear people saying how this song changed their life or how this song made them stop doing, you know, drugs or stuff like that. And music does really I mean think about it, they have good music when you go out, they have sad music, they have, you know, all types of.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, you know, it's funny because since I've kind of gotten uh past uh a few things lately, and like I said, I'm a phoenix rising from the ashes and shit. You know, it's like I found myself like not really digging, not really digging or or seeking to listen to the music that I've been not just listening to recently, but looking for new shit, and also just finding more actually finding things that would help me kind of get out of a out of a certain mood and into another mood, do you know what I'm saying? Like something empowering or something uplifting. Not not like Christian music, even though that would be great too. I mean But yeah, or not even that, like uh I've been doing the audiobook thing, even though it's been a book that I've been that I've read like who knows how many times in my whole life, you know. And honestly, I I'm actually thinking I might have I actually downloaded a Tanakh. I don't know if that's how you sp do you spell it, you pronounce it? Tanakh, Tanakh, forgive me if I'm mispronouncing it. It's it's the Hebrew Bible. Oh, okay. And then uh the Torah. The Torah. The Torah, I think I forget. I'm not sure if it's a Hebrew as well. It might be. I like I said, that's why I'm I'm that's why I'm you know. I mean, don't get me wrong, I still have a good chunk of the Bible to go.
SPEAKER_00:Right.
SPEAKER_01:I always seem to get stuck uh in Leviticus for some reason. But like I I get pretty good, pretty deep into it, then I get stuck in Leviticus, and I need to be able to and honestly, some of those some of those earlier books you can pass over because it's just really it's very meticulous laws on certain things. And that's where I get stuck because yeah, it's like the people just barely figuring out laws and and and the and the Lord making certain laws and sacrifices in certain ways you should treat uh your food after you when you eat it, and like I guess it was a bad thing to eat leftovers after so many days. Well, yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I guess back in those days, right? No, yeah, there was no fridge or nothing, really. You know what I mean? Unless it was winter. It's like Chris Rock used to say you said the same thing, actually. You actually referred to the same thing. It was that joke is like I I I I eat a uh I I'd eat a pig's ass if you cooked it right. If you cook it right, if you cook it right, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:Hey man, you cook something something.
SPEAKER_01:But then he kind of goes into a thing about like, you know, I understand the whole thing about like not eating pork and and all that stuff back in those days, and you know, not eating leftovers because yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:You don't have a fridge, you just exactly right. I mean they probably had Tupperware. But don't don't they they had now they don't hey like do you want something to go? I'm pretty sure they they didn't you don't think they had like a like some type of thing.
SPEAKER_01:Well they would use a cave. That that was a thing was use a cave or dig it dig it in the ground. If a get the box dug in the ground, that's yeah. I mean it would keep it cold, but it was dirty to dig it up and then yeah, and then when you dig it up, all the worms and everything will probably eat it. Well, depending on what it is, and you know, if you put it in a box, if you put a box in in a hole and close it up real good, because you can seal it that way, but yeah, eventually things will get into it. But I mean, you're not keeping food in there long enough. You just keep trying to keep it in there for like two or three days. Because I guess meat will hold for two or three days if you keep it in a cool enough place. Or I think another thing would be keeping it submerged in rivers, depending on the river. Dude, that would suck, dude, to be a but no, it was back back in those days with these laws. It was like, yeah, if you're gonna cook, if you're gonna slaughter something, just make sure you eat what you're gonna you're gonna kill. Don't and whatever you don't eat, make sure you throw it away or the next day, that sort of stuff.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, yeah, definitely. Yeah, definitely.
SPEAKER_01:Or it was good to like the n that night and the next night, and after that, it's like boom, it's gotta go in the trash, but if you're not eating it then, you better just, you know. Cause it and it would say it's unclean food, it's unclean foods. And basically, I see that.
SPEAKER_00:You know, I have a lot of questions. They're like, did they have trash cans like we have trash cans? You know, where they're like that's a good question.
SPEAKER_01:I think they did. I mean, I think that's how we got our whole landfill system. Yeah, no, I mean I'm pretty sure it was um, just take all your trash to one certain spot, dig a big ass pit, and throw it all in there, and once when it once it gets filled to a certain point, you just throw you just throw dirt back over it and go find dig another spot.
SPEAKER_00:But but don't you think after time that would kind of like fuck up the land?
SPEAKER_01:I mean, that's why you carry it out far enough. That was the thing, you know? But it all depends on the tribe and everything else, too. But that's why tribes would migrate, right? They wouldn't, they would only they would set up camp for so long in a certain spot. That's my understanding. Yeah, no, because you have to think, man. It's like, yeah. And but yeah, I think you're right. I mean, things would get so shady to a point where like you can only dig holes nearby because you don't want to be hauling all sorts of trash to a certain spot far, far away. Right, you know, and that's why I think people would move, like, all right, dude. I think all our shitholes just all our shitholes and trash holes, and we got no much holes, we got nothing to no one to put filled up, and you know, we can't get rid of it. Starting to smell time to move downwind.
SPEAKER_00:And you know it's funny, and you know it's funny back in those days, they used to call like land for what they see or what they smell or stuff, yeah. Shitty land, you know. They're like fucking, so we got on to the new land, you know. It reminds me of uh South Park Shitty Walk. Shitty Walk, oh yeah, yeah. She's like uh isn't he an airline too? I think so. He's like she's like shitty airline, yeah, yeah. How can I help you? Shitty air, shitty air, yeah. No, dude, it's um it's good shit, bro.
SPEAKER_01:Good shit.
SPEAKER_00:So it's a good time. You know, I hope they're the people listening, they could leave a comment in the section what's their favorite song or a couple of not anything, what's their favorite, just a couple of uh good songs that you want to put us onto that you some some topics you might want to hear us talk about too.
SPEAKER_01:It doesn't matter, you know. Help us out, yeah. Help us help you, bro.
SPEAKER_00:Give us your thoughts and opinion, and yeah, for sure. Well no, man, it's been uh it's been a decent day, like I say.
SPEAKER_01:It was kind of cold at first, it's starting to get cold for sure. I had to wake up this morning and close my windows. The cold woke me up.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, yeah, you don't want the cold waking you up. No, you know, getting under the blankets.
SPEAKER_01:Oh, which reminds me, just to kind of uh close that bus sprout circle. Good news for you. So I think I figured out a way to do our our extra kind of co-host or our trying out somebody or whatever.
SPEAKER_00:Right.
SPEAKER_01:I mean, I'm sure she's a good deadlock, you know. I'm sure you're not, you know, it's not gonna be no big deal. But, anyways, you're gonna like it because guess what we're gonna need to use?
SPEAKER_00:Oh, the soundboard. Oh, we're bringing the soundboard back.
SPEAKER_01:You might bring the old Bessie back, bro. That's how it started. That's how it started. Hey, what is it doing over there? We might need to dust that sucker off, bro. Yeah, so you know, I'm I'm gonna leave that sucker with you. I'm gonna figure out the logistics of uh setting that up. And because I haven't I feel bad ever since I I talked to Homegirl. She's Home Slice, she's uh we just kind of left it at that, and I haven't talked to her since, and it's been like what I think less than a week for sure.
SPEAKER_00:I'll probably just shoot her a call and let her know.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, well, I told her I would figure that out. Shout out to Home Slice, Home Slice. Uh so yeah, stay tuned for that. There, that's another thing we're gonna be adding to that. So that's that that was the thing I was trying to close up with is uh I think uh we're trying to try and figure out what we're gonna do as far as getting another person on here that might be part-time or every once in a while. Right. And uh we're gonna bring your old friend back over there and we're gonna hook her up because she's gonna be remote from uh from the Rockies.
SPEAKER_00:The Rocky Mountains from the Rado, bro. The motherland. No, but um, that's where people get kidnapped by aliens. Oh, that and around area 50, whatever the fuck it's called. Because, dude, I I uh I visited, you know, I know we're gonna wrap this up soon.
SPEAKER_01:I just want to give a Yeah, we got uh we got a wey, we got 20 minutes, bro.
SPEAKER_00:That and um I don't want to go up too off topic, but look, I visit I visit Colorado, dude, and let me tell you something. In the middle of the night, you if you're out there in the middle of the of the Rockies or whatever, dude, where dude, you're you're all you see is stars, and your ass is getting abducted by an alien. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_01:Well, I spend a lot of time up in the mountains. You do see some crazy shit flowing around in the sky, but no, you've got never really experienced anything like that. I mean, I and I I mean I nah I didn't spend as much time as I would have loved to, or more than most, but yeah, I mean, I've never really heard of anything.
SPEAKER_00:What quick question?
SPEAKER_01:You might see Bigfoot, though. Oh, Bigfoot, yeah, for sure. He's for real up there. He's the homie, I don't doubt it.
SPEAKER_00:The homie squatch, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I don't doubt it. He's probably just asking for the dinks, bro.
SPEAKER_00:I'll leave him like a care package, some snacks.
SPEAKER_01:Use my hook, bro. Uh, Graham. He has the dinks, dog. I bet he does. He probably grows his own.
SPEAKER_00:White we back, dog. What? What about Bigfoot? That's that's who he is, bro. The squatch, Sasquatch. Then who's the one that's all white? The butt the but that's uh that's a Yeti, dog. That's a Yeti? That's a Yeti. I mean Who you think will win?
SPEAKER_01:Honestly, that's just the squash up in the snowy mountains covered in snow, to be honest. So there's two of them? There's two of them, is what you're saying? No, it's just people got him confused, got him mixed up. You know, it's the same dude, but he's yeah, he's just covered in snow. Oh I was about to say, I'm about to say who you think will go at it. I'm just kidding, but honestly, it's the same dude. Nah, dude, do I see that dude on Mountain Brown? Squatch, he likes to he likes to get around, bro. Ain't that motherfucker like 10 feet? He ain't just from around the block, dog.
SPEAKER_00:How little how tall? How tall is uh the yeti?
SPEAKER_01:The yet?
SPEAKER_00:I mean the the bigfoot. How tall squatch? Yeah, how tall do you think he is?
SPEAKER_01:Uh he's pretty tall, bro. He's pretty tall, man. He's about as tall as the ceiling here.
SPEAKER_00:It's like how tall is Bigfoot?
SPEAKER_01:It's like 10 to 15 feet, dog.
SPEAKER_00:He's he's nine, he's six to nine feet. Oh my bad. 1.8 to 2.7 meters tall, with some accounts suggesting individuals as tall as 10 to 15 feet.
SPEAKER_01:That's why sometimes they they confuse me for him because they always see us hanging out all the time and stuff.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, bro. You know what?
SPEAKER_01:I blame it.
SPEAKER_00:You got me confused. You got you got me fucked up. You know, that I think that's why I think that's why a lot of people kind of like just give you that look. Like, is that really him?
SPEAKER_01:Exactly, dog. That's why I can't go nowhere with without eyes.
SPEAKER_00:I know, bro. And I'm just trying to watch me and shit. I'm just trying to watch the much pop though.
SPEAKER_01:I feel like Tupac out there, bro.
SPEAKER_00:You know, they be looking like LA, bro. I tell people, hey, look, you gotta be careful around them, bro. You just coming back from the mountains. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You could look at them, bro. You look at him to run, bro. He might start a fire up in this motherfucker. You might either fight you or fuck you, one of the two guys. You might, you know, throw you on one of those long ass things and just roast you.
SPEAKER_01:Like a you know, man, you know, it's I was a little out of pocket the other day, but you know. It's not good. Nah, nah. At the same time, too. It's like there was no need.
SPEAKER_00:Nah, nah.
SPEAKER_01:I feel like I had to kind of like stand my ground a little bit. It's not like I went aggressive. I just went to go make myself. Hey, dude, I see you, see me, see me. You see me, me seeing you. I do how you see it. We see each other, you know.
SPEAKER_00:We can see uh we can have a see-off. You know how you see? I'm gonna have a staring contest, just walk up to be like you wanna have a staring contest, Doug? Whoever, whoever doesn't blink, whoever blinks has to buy the drinks. You know what I mean? First one to blink, buys drinks. Just keep it all friendly and shit. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, but for real. I mean, it was really a friendly thing more than anything. It's not like you went over there and shook them down and turned them upside down.
SPEAKER_01:I don't know that, but you know, I still do feel bad. I do feel bad. Yeah, no, hearing the information that I know now, I do feel bad. You know, you don't do that to another man's kid. But I feel like if if if a kid trying to act like a man is gonna be talking to a woman the way I heard him talking to this woman the other night, then guess what? If he's gonna be looking at a man a certain way, you know, obviously the kid the man is not a kid. He's you know, at that point, he's obviously you know.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, no, you like I said, dude, I mean, in my opinion, you you know, you didn't do nothing really crazy or nothing.
SPEAKER_01:It's just not like anybody's parenting, but if you can let if you can let your son talk to a woman that way too, it's like, come on, bro.
SPEAKER_00:You know, and and and and and and they could go both ways because you know, some some some people don't know that they can't do it. Yeah, it's situation for what it is, but yeah, no, right, but still, you know, you don't talk to a woman that way, regardless of anything, dude.
SPEAKER_01:Right, yeah, you know if word gets
SPEAKER_00:Back that my kid is mouthing off crazy. Oh, dude, as soon as I see him, yeah, as soon as I see him, it's like Mr. Mr. DC. You don't do that, bro. You don't, you know, there's it's there's a certain time, like I get it. We all we all might slip up, or we all with uh hanging out with the buddies, and a couple of, you know, but when you yeah, but it was a bar, it was kind of like it wasn't even a bar full of people, but it was just like right, it was people listening, and it's just like dude, like I didn't even want to stay.
SPEAKER_01:The homie was like making me uncomfortable. Like dude. It's just how I feel about that.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, no, dude. Like sometimes you just gotta, you know, that's why it is what it is.
SPEAKER_01:Uh here at the Shrewd Show. That's another reason why, yeah, whatever.
SPEAKER_00:It is what it is, man. Yeah, it is what it is, you know.
SPEAKER_01:That's why we shake it out, shake it down, shake it off, bro.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, and uh, you know, we appreciate everybody tuning in, listening.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, we're out there listening.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_01:We hope we hope we uh you know we're we're oh that's another thing about the starting podcast. Is uh I do want to remind people even though you start off with something, it doesn't mean you have to stick with a certain thing. You can always pivot. There's you know, always find just because you you you have an idea about a podcast doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna work out. Um you can always still try and incorporate your main ideas into your podcast, but you you might want to branch out a little bit more. Find other things too that you that you or both you and your co-host like to do. It'd be a good way to take your your your cast to the next level. We're audio right now. Oh should we plug in the challenge? Hopefully, uh the food challenge.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:So hopefully our first video is gonna be uh our first video might be might not be well actually it is an hour challenge. So we're I don't know if you're gonna try it. You said you're not gonna try it. You're not gonna try to.
SPEAKER_00:No, but I'm going for the show. I'm definitely I'm gonna I'll hold the you know the camera. I mean, we're gonna go try it.
SPEAKER_01:Like you said, there's a whole bunch of YouTube videos of the place in it. I just I love subs. I love certain types of foods, and I know there's certain types of foods I can eat because I'm a fatty. And subs are one of them? And subs or Italian subs. Fuck yeah. You just like I said, yeah, yeah. And um so you guys find out. You you know, we're gonna take video. Excuse me for pigging the fuck out, but yeah, that's that's what's gonna go down.
SPEAKER_00:They'll definitely get an update on it.
SPEAKER_01:Uh, you know, yeah, hopefully in the next month for sure. Yeah, in the next two, three weeks, we'll have it up.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, no, no, no real rush. It's just right now there's you know how it is with uh with life and everything. But I know, dude.
SPEAKER_01:I I almost feel like this weekend. I don't know if you're down for this weekend, but we'll see.
SPEAKER_00:I mean, I'm I might I might uh uh I don't think I really have much going on, and uh I got gas money and we'll see, but like we don't know rush. We don't even you know, we don't even have to take we have metro right there. True, true. No, yeah, we'll we'll see. But we'll definitely keep the people updated and uh see what's up. We don't want to rush anything. No, yeah, for sure, for sure. But but we'll see if it's if Saturday comes and we're not doing nothing and we're like, hey, fuck it, let's let's just go out there.
SPEAKER_01:Uh, because it's for me, it's something I feel like I have to plan, bro. Like it's like I I don't even know. Like, I know the guys that I've seen do it and and and and fucking master it are guys that like don't eat for 24 hours, man. And that's something I have to prepare myself for, you know. I hear that like the best time to hit the place up would be like midday. Yeah.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Because it I guess it gets more busy. It's more of a deli place than it is a shop now. It's more of a like a little shop for people that live in the area, but it's a deadly place. Like everybody else. Oh, that's another reason why I want to say we might want to take the bus or the train because I heard that parking is a bitch up there.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, we'll definitely uh check it out. And like I said, um we'll give the people the review. Yeah, for sure.
SPEAKER_01:People that are listening, that uh we'll let you guys know and all that stuff. But I definitely that's definitely coming up for sure. Yeah, yeah. That's one thing that we've yeah, just a little bit. Honestly, that's not the only place I want to try out. I want to try out the good the good life pizza place too.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, yeah, yeah. No, definitely. Just uh, you know, take the podcast on the road a little.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, definitely. Get it on the road and get uh, you know a couple of places, and even doesn't even have to be that we can even do see how many plates I could how many plates we could uh I can wolf down at a true at a at a buffet or something, you know? Uh true, yeah, yeah. There you go. I'm serious too.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I'm down. But we still gotta stick to healthy, you know, healthy stuff. Oh no, that's definitely what I'm gonna enjoy.
SPEAKER_01:No, I have a the buffet, I know I can I can wow some people in for sure. Right. They'd be like, Dan, bro, you eating like yeah, we might have to call the cops on you. Oh, believe me, I've gotten some some looks. Yeah, even recently I've gotten some looks, and even you know it's it's not a stereotype when you sit there for when you have sat there for like an hour and a half, you're still eating, they come over here like, okay, you're done. You finish, you go. It's like nah, dude. You know, there's no time limit to the thing. Oh, you can eat, yeah, right.
SPEAKER_00:I'm not wasting no food.
SPEAKER_01:Yep, yeah. Well, dude, you know. Well, I mean, I don't know how you feel about that, but I no, no, I don't. I haven't wanted to hit up a fan. I don't need to use your free transfer, but I mean you might as well, you know, get some content out of this shit.
SPEAKER_00:Right, right. No, I don't I don't mind, dude. I mean, I just I I could I could probably eat like two or three distant fleets and then I'll just chill and until they kick us out or till you're finished.
SPEAKER_01:I don't know, I mean I don't even know.
SPEAKER_00:Oh no, no, definitely that. And um, like we were saying, um, like you were telling people to you know, try and try to just you know get out there and just take a little bit of uh chances and and try a little bit of everything.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, yeah. Or you know, I don't really like to get out much, like I said, but fuck, man. No, but places like that, just to have some grub or to me, this isn't even work. I mean, I figure if I'm gonna go out there and try some stuff that I've never it's about getting out of getting out of my shell and and just doesn't even have to be a social thing, you know. Just be out there and you know, just live life, bro, and have a good tea. Yeah, yeah. Trying good foods and uh give some reviews. Because the cool place the cool thing about this place is that they if you do eat the whole thing, you do you get 50 bucks. Oh, that's right. You don't have to pay for it, and you get 50 bucks and a t-shirt and a couple other things, from what I understand. You think people actually won? Oh no, I know a whole bunch of people have won. All the videos are they're still in business. The few beer, the few videos that I have seen. I mean, not everybody tries it, but I know nowadays I'm sure they you know. But there are a couple other places here that I do want to try out. But uh, you know, shout out to uh uh Beard Meets Food, that link I should I sent you. Yeah, definitely check him out. He's very inspiring. He's he is a competitor though, so he's uh what they call a uh professional gurgitator.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah that sounds cool when you got the name professional in front of your name. Sounds cool, you know.
SPEAKER_01:I mean, I think he's I don't know how old the last video I saw that where he mentioned his rank, but I think he might have said 17 or 7. One of the two. Could have been seven, to be honest with you, because I've seen this guy wolf down some stuff, man. Like seriously, some stuff like damn. Damn. Well, and he's ripped, he's ripped, bro. He's he's short from Leeds, he says. Really short, dude. I mean, not really short, but you know I mean a beard. Big ass beard. I don't know how you can manage to eat because this little thing right here is starting to get on my nerves, bro. It's starting to get in my in my mouth and all that stuff, and it's annoying. And I hate. I don't care whose hair it is, if it's mine or another person's hair, or the shit's in my food. You might have to just I might have to chop it out. Or I'll trim it. I'll trim it.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I'll probably just a little trim, you know. Yeah, I know what you mean, though. Or put a put a what you call it, those beers that they make you work at the bakery?
SPEAKER_01:Uh like a no, I'll just trim it. I'll just trim it short enough to where it won't get in my mouth. Yeah. Well, so what are you gonna get? You might just get a regular one one foot sub or me? I'm probably just gonna give me like a pizza. You say, uh really? Uh well, it's a sandwich, it's a deli shit.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, oh, I'll give me like a nice pizza uh pizza. I'll give me a nice pizza, bro. You know, no, no, it's a deli big pizza back there.
SPEAKER_01:You walk in there uh dairy desking for hot burrito. No, that's the that's you know I'll take a churro. I'll take a churro. You guys got one of those?
SPEAKER_00:Dessert, this is Burger King.
SPEAKER_01:I know, but you guys got churros? No, but um actually Burger King does have churros. Oh, really? Well, I mean, I think they might have phased them out, but they're it's a seasonal thing. Oh shit. I ain't know that. Yeah, yeah. Are they good? They're bombed, they're expensive, but they're bomb. There's churro fries, you know, so it's a no.
SPEAKER_00:I mean, um, probably just get a sub and just like I said, record so we could get everything so we could get like a decent going on everything and video.
SPEAKER_01:And I'm gonna have to try to try out the video, but I do have a a a pixel. It's all good. I mean, I guess you could just use that. It's not like anybody calls me anyway, so I know I know that it'll be freed up. Right, right, right. We won't get we won't get no interruptions with that motherfucker.
SPEAKER_00:You know, just to give something something to the show, to the people, for uh just to step out, try some things. Yeah, dude. And uh, like I said, we'll keep the people updated.
SPEAKER_01:You sure you don't want me to wanna like just record me and then I'll record you seeing how fast you can eat that sub?
SPEAKER_00:Oh hell no, dude. An hour is not enough, dude. An hour is no no, not that sub.
SPEAKER_01:Just be ready.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, yeah, we could do that like. Alright, so like you get an hour, right? For your big ass sub, and then I'll be like, alright, now tie me, bro. Tie me. Watch this little ass sub get down in two seconds, dude. I'm over there like for ten minutes later.
SPEAKER_01:Dude, those meatballs are pretty big, dude. They're like, oh yeah. I don't know how I'm gonna do it. I think I might have to like. I'm thinking I might cut it in half, cut them, try to chopping them, chop it up as best as possible, and then just put out the big chunk, the big chunks.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Put them off to the side and just go to town, dude. And then maybe just incorporate a little bit. Because I gotta have I gotta have bread, dude. I gotta have bread with me, dog, no matter what. Right. I could do the I could do the I could do the whole thing if I have enough bread.
SPEAKER_00:Oh, I'm pretty sure they'll get you.
SPEAKER_01:I really don't even need like a a drink. I mean, yeah, the drink will be nice every like third of a every third of the sub, but I think I can do it, bro. And even if I don't, I love subs anyways. I don't mind taking that bitch home. Exactly. You got yourself some leftovers. Yeah, and I know and I know what I need to work on for next time because I intend I intend to win the food challenge, dude. That's that's my goal. Right. From now till then, I already have two in mind. It's gonna be that one and the Nona's good life pizza slice challenge. I'm gonna try those suckers, man. I'm gonna do it.
SPEAKER_00:We'll keep the people posted as well.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00:And uh we'll definitely try them out.
SPEAKER_01:And you guys definitely stay tuned for uh the home girl home slice. Yeah, that one too, yeah. She probably won't be a part of those episodes, but we'll definitely figure some stuff out and she will be uh become we'll be incorporating her a little bit more and more slowly.
SPEAKER_00:Right. Yeah. No, yeah. We'll get that uh get that going and do a couple of those things and you know see how everything works out.
SPEAKER_01:Yep. So aside from that, I mean you know, it's hopefully we've given you guys some sort of uh an idea, like how to transition into into some sort of content ideas. We usually try to talk about it's usually if you're doing co-hosting, it's usually b it's always good to plan no matter what. Sometimes you when you have to work it out with two people, it's just a kind of like best to just throw out like a a subject before the the show comes on. You know, just work things out one way or the other. It's just about trying to come up with some content. I know that me and Big Shoots here, we've been sitting around puffing and uh shooting the shit for quite a while now, like what seven what we were doing for like three, four months before we started the podcast. So we uh and we didn't even really know each other that well before that.
SPEAKER_00:So right, just talking about just just stuff, right? Everything work, work and just uh everything that's going on out there. Yeah, no homo, by the way, guys.
SPEAKER_01:So uh aside from that, really there's no no plug-ins beside from maybe the challenge thing coming up. We still have that uh two-party that'll be hopefully it'll be coming up before this episode goes up. But you know, if it does, we we might have to edit this out. But we don't really listen for that anyway, so you might listen to this later on after it comes out. So either way, stay tuned. And and even if you haven't heard it and you're listening about it now, you might want to go check it out. That's the beauty about you know, doing a cast.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Um yeah. Anything you want to add to?
SPEAKER_00:No, I'm uh I'm all shooking up, shooking out. I'm uh gonna call it uh call it a night. Unless you got something uh something.
SPEAKER_01:No, no. I mean that's pretty much said what I had to say.
SPEAKER_00:Just figure I'd leave it up to you since you're the DJ, the main host, and you're the one that usually wraps it up. I appreciate everybody stopping by like always. And you know, we we're definitely always gonna bring you something new and super hot fire. Yeah, because we don't play that. We we don't play that over here, you know. We need some walking around money.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, we need some walking around money. Yeah, uh some shit to take up our time. And oh yeah, definitely. Yeah, yeah. Oh, there it goes. And uh yeah, I guess the last thing we do have, I do have to say we are DIY. You might not even hear this, but we are gonna just throw that out there. We do have some still working on our Patreon. We do have a bus cast bus sprout page. So if you guys are interested in helping us out a little bit, even if you don't, whatever, just keep tuning in. That's all we care about. Right. And uh a few downloads as much as you know, and this is uh DIY Studios out here at 8A Studios. So, you know, just keep that in mind that uh we are still starting up and uh hopefully just another lesson to think about um to talk about later, really, uh, as far as finding a spot nice and quiet and sound.
SPEAKER_00:But anyways, hey, I appreciate you guys for uh tuning in and staying with us until the next episode.
